Live-Edge Plank – Rectangular

Some images display naturally on a rustic medium. Live-edge refers to the bark left on a wood product. These planks are not engineered, so there will always be a variance in width and possible blemishes in the wood (such as knots or dark spots).  The 11 inch planks work best for a 4″ x 6″ image and some text, or a 5″ x 7″ image if the plank is at least 8 inches wide. The 13 inch planks can comfortably hold an 8″ x 10″ image. Current pricing reflects CNC carving and the amount of desired detail. Computer processing of the provided image, stain and clearcoat is included in carving price. A clear resin fill/coating is optional, but highly recommended. It protects the piece from potential damage, such as the bark breaking off. It also magnifies finer details and makes the piece easier to clean, because dust will not be able to settle into the crevices of the carving.

The product image photo shows text and colored resin in the characters. Please use the product inquiry box if these are details you want to add, instead of placing an order from this page. There can be up to 2 inches variance in width of the 11 inch planks, from 7 to 9 inches. Your inquiry should include your preferred plank size, carving detail of the image and the exact text. The first four characters are free and $1.00 for each after; $2.00 for each with colored resin. Orders with details beyond the drop menus, such as text, require a custom quote and payment invoice generated by PayPal. A 50% down payment is required for custom quotes before work begins, and a final payment for the balance at the time of shipping. 

Please provide an unaltered .jpg image uploaded  from your digital device’s photo folder. Thumbnails and images pasted in a document are too small and their resolution is compromised. It is possible for us to scan old photographs, which must be arranged at the beginning of the order process. Those who provide hardcopy photos will have them returned with their order. We require a legitimate, working email address. All customers must sign off on a proof of their project before any work begins. Proofs include a digital rendering of the carving and a photo of the plank that comes closest to your specifications. Please allow up to seven working days if including the resin colors and/or coating, to allow it time to cure before shipping.
