The Child of Eos

What could be worse than meeting your soul-mate during an identity crisis?

Miss Persephone Dortmund’s short life suddenly veered in an unexpected direction, due to the actions of a disagreeable neighbor. In an effort to escape him, she became the nurse and companion of her distant cousin, Lady Isobelle Harrington. Her new identity, as hired help, did not begin smoothly. Then she discovered fate was a terrible match maker. Lady Isobelle’s cousin did not seem like a bad man. He simply was not what she envisioned for herself, precisely because there was nothing simple about him.

A luminous deity could not remain concealed indefinitely. Viscount Edward Harrington felt as if his soul had been electrified by desire. Unfortunately, the timing was not ideal. He lacked the freedom to court his one true love, while clandestinely serving king and country in the midst of a war. Until another family tragedy brought him home for good. One would think having your future lover under the same roof provided a distinct advantage. Except Edward found himself constrained by the distasteful actions of the man who forced his beloved into hiding.

Description

This title was previously published as The Pearl Diver’s Song. I was never completely satisfied with it, then it occured to me I have a running theme in this series. Which will become more obvious when I release book 3. I also redesigned the cover using one of my all-time favorite sunrise photos, one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. While we were camping in Oklahoma. It was taken in 2016, a year after my Mom’s death. I was still in deep grieving and couldn’t have asked for a better gift.  It seems like the perfect match. Eos is the Titan (goddess) of the dawn, sister to Helios (sun) and Selene (moon).

Both Heart of a Star and Book 2 have always had around 100,000 words and should still have that many, at a minimum. Again, it’s word count which provides the true length of a book, not number of pages. Those will vary in a reflowable e-book, because the exact page number is determined by the screen size of your electronic device. Phones and tablets are fine for this format, but trust me, I don’t recommend wide-screen computer monitors. The accompanying digital file is an EPUB and is compatible with all reader apps that support this format. I’m very particular about typesetting, formatting and consistancy. Completed files are also given additional proofing in Sigil for a clean bill of health. I have no control over the performance of individual reader apps. I can only recommend trying a different app or deleting/reloading your favorite app, if you encounter difficulties. Notify me any way when there is an issue.
